Welcome to Pioneer Madness 2012, my annual free March Madness pool!
After three weeks of exciting tournament play it all came down to tonight. From the startt of the tournament the question was whether anyone could beat Kentucky's superior talent. The answer, after six games in which they were never really able to be pushed that close to the brink, is no. On this day and for this year, superior talent prevailed. Anthony Davis, despite having one of his worst offensive games of the year, was again the deciding force as he constantly disrupted Kansas's offensive flow. Between Davis and Doron Lamb's big shot after big shot, Kanas really had no shot tonight, no matter how well they played. The Jayhawks tried to make a run of it but in the end, it was Kentucky that got the job done.
As for the pool, Sarah Smith hangs on to her lead to win the main pool and Adam Reid wins the Sweet 16 Pool. Congratulations to them.
Its always a pleasure running this pool year in and year out and this year has been no different. Thanks to everyone who entered and I'll see you next March!
